Fish & Chip Supper « Spa Valley Railway

British tradition and heritage trains!
Enjoy an evening train ride with a meal of traditional fish & chips on board one of our heritage trains. Our Fish & Chip Supper trains operate throughout the year on selected special event days, and you can book tickets for just £30 per adult or £24 per child.

You will board the train at Tunbridge Wells West and set off down the line, travelling through the glorious High Weald. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch from a local proper chip shop, followed by a slice of cake for dessert. The price also includes a drink!

Your tickets are valid for train travel all day, so if you want to remain on board, you might need to sit in another part of the train. We do have other experiences available, and you'd be more than welcome to join them.

Your experience tickets are valid for travel on any of the evening trains we are operating on the day of your visit. The food will be served following the departure of the train, as stated on your e-ticket.

Veggie Burger & Chips (Please note, it contains milk and egg, the burger is Vegetarian but not Vegan)

We unfortunately cannot cater for vegan or gluten-free dietary requirements on this experience due to the supplier.

What’s included in the ticket price?

Heritage train ride with a steam and/or diesel locomotive, lasting approximately 2 hours, along the Spa Valley Railway. Your departure time and station are indicated on your e-ticket, and you'll return to your starting location.
A main, dessert and drink from the menu above.
At-seat waiting service with additional drink service, allowing you to purchase more on board.

We regret that, due to the nature of the 1960s carriages, we cannot always accommodate wheelchair users on these dining experiences. Please contact us in advance to discuss this further.

Please note that there are no alternatives to the menu choices above. If you have any special dietary requirements, we must be made aware of them at the time of booking. Menu options must be chosen during the booking process, which includes a vegetarian option. We can't alter the menu for the evening. We unfortunately cannot cater for vegan dietary requirements on this experience due to the supplier.

Booking information

Advanced booking is essential to ride on our Fish & Chip trains.

On the day of your visit, you must have your e-tickets available to show, either in print or on a mobile device. Both will be visually checked by a member of staff before boarding the train.

Please note that a £10 administration fee applies to all booking alterations.

We regret that there can be no refund or transfer to a future date for ‘no-show’ customers. The Spa Valley Railway still incurs charges for its services, which must be paid to our suppliers. We recommend taking out a form of insurance to protect yourself if necessary. To re-book, you will be required to pay the full fare again.
