The Kent Cheese Train!

We have a crackers idea for you!
Join us on an afternoon on the Kent Cheese train for a return trip on our railway; along the way, you get the chance to enjoy a selection of local cheeses brought to you in partnership with The Cheese Shop, Tunbridge Wells!

Arrive and board our heritage 1960s carriages before you set off through the High Weald. On your table will be a selection box with four different cheeses, chutney and crackers to enjoy during your train ride. Not only that, but a drink of your choice is also included in the price!

Your tickets are valid for train travel all day, so if you wanted to remain on board, you might need to sit in another part of the train. We also have other experiences that you're more than welcome to.

Cheese selection

• Winterdale Shaw – Made by Winterdale Cheesemakers, Wrotham nr. Sevenoaks. Kent. Unpasteurised, not suitable for vegetarians. Traditional cheddar style, smooth and buttery with  rich, earthly flavours
• Kentish Blue – Made by Kingcott Dairy, Staplehurst, Kent. Unpasteurised, suitable for vegetarians. Firm texture, smooth blue notes with a great aftertaste
• Sussex Brie – Made by Alsop & Walker, Five Ashes, East Sussex. Pasteurised, suitable for vegetarians. Mellow grassy notes and a hint of nuttiness
• Mayfield – Made by Alsop & Walker, as per Sussex Brie. Pasteurised, suitable for vegetarians. Easy eating, sweet, nutty and creamy flavours

What’s included in the ticket price?

• Train Ride
  • A heritage train ride usually with a steam engine lasting around one hour along the Spa Valley Railway.
  • Your departure time and station are displayed on your e-ticket, and you will return to your starting location.
• Four individual portions of cheese:

  • Sussex Brie
  • Mayfield
• Individual Chutneys:
  
  • Caramelised Onion Marmalade
  • Apricot and Ginger
• The Fine Cheese Co.’s crackers:
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Sea Salt
  • Rosemary & Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• A complimentary drink of your choice from the following selection:
  • Biddenden Vintage Cider (330ml)
  • Las Camarcas Sauvignon Blanc (18.7cl)
  • Las Camarcas Merlot (18.7cl)
  • Reanne Valley Zinfandel Rosé (18.7cl)
  • Soft Drink – Coca Cola Classic or Zero, Fanta, Sprite or Water

The Kent Cheese Train ticket price:

• Adult – £35 per person.

For details, please refer to the booking information for your selected service. The cheese offered is not vegan or dairy-free, and we are not able to source an alternative option; all cheese is locally sourced.
